Vandaag 25 oktober de eerste van mijn reeks 26 bestralingen. Het begon met een (alweer) informatiegesprek. Ja, aan informatie geen gebrek. Je wordt bij de Gelderse Vallei constant door iedereen geïnformeerd hoe en wat er gaat gebeuren. Complimenten! Vanaf vandaag wordt ik 4 maal per week bestraald op maandag, dinsdag, donderdag en vrijdag.
Na dit intakegesprek ging ik naar de bestralingsruimte.( zie foto ) Ik moest gaan liggen op het bed, met je armen omhoog in de rode steunen waarna 2 verpleegkundigen links en rechts voorzichtig aan me gingen sjorren om me in de juiste positie te krijgen.
Hierna ging het beginnen. De verpleegkundigen gingen weg met de boodschap dat als het niet goed zou gaan ik met mijn armen moest wapperen zodat ze direct het proces stop zouden zetten. Tja, daar lig je dan, even bekroop me het gevoel van lichte paniek je realiseert je ineens dat er dus dat er ook gezonde cellen vernietigt gaan worden en ik zei tegen mijzelf: sorry lichaam. Gek he? Daarna begreep ik dat ik mijn gedachte moest verzetten en dat lukte wonderbaarlijk goed. Ik beeldde mij in dat ik op het strand van Villeneuve Loubet lag, lekker op een bedje in de zon. Het geruis van de airco was het geluid van de golven. Het zoemen van het apparaat, die af en toe om mij heen draaide was het geluid van de vliegtuigen in de verte. Het bestralen zelf, een hoog zoemend geluid, was een irritante telefoon die over ging en dan dacht ik: neem toch op! Haha. Op deze manier was het heel goed te behappen. Het bestralen zelf ging in verschillende fases van 3 keer een korte zoem of soms een lange. Ik had eigenlijk verwacht dat het ineens ging over het hele gebied maar het ging in 7 fases. Al met al ging het best snel. Ik voelde niks en nu nog steeds niets. Ik ben vandaag voor 2,3 gray bestraald, gray is de eenheid van de hoeveelheid van de straling. Nou ja, ik hoop maar die die dan goed zijn werk heeft gedaan.
Na het bestralen nam Adri mij lekker mee uit lunchen en zo werd het een leuke dag.
